2027: FINTIRI DECLARES NEUTRALITY, SAYS ADAMAWA VOTERS WILL DECIDE SUCCESSOR

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has clarified that he will not involve himself in the race to succeed him, emphasizing that the electorate will decide the state’s next governor in 2027.

Speaking at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Yola, Fintiri dismissed rumors suggesting he was supporting any candidate. He reiterated that leadership selection is the sole prerogative of the people.

“The authority to select leaders belongs to the citizens; no one can make that decision on their behalf,” he stated.

The governor affirmed his neutrality in the ongoing political process and encouraged aspirants to engage with the grassroots and secure support through meaningful interaction with voters.

“True democratic leadership cannot be imposed; it must be freely granted by the people,” he added.

Fintiri also assured All Progressives Congress (APC) members, including governorship hopefuls, of fair competition, dispelling concerns about bias following his defection to the APC earlier this year, which had elevated him to a prominent leadership role within the party in the state.
