Former governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja, has formally been installed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland in a coronation ceremony marked with pomp and tradition. The event drew a cross-section of dignitaries, traditional rulers, and residents who gathered to witness this historic moment.
The coronation took place amid fanfare, with elaborate rites, cultural displays, and prayers. Security was heightened across the city to ensure smooth proceedings, and many streets were decorated in honour of the new monarch.
While Ladoja was present in ceremonial regalia, many officials and guests were also photographed during the ceremony. The images captured moments of jubilation, procession, and traditional rites.
The new Olubadan takes over following the passing of his predecessor, and his ascension signals a renewed chapter for Ibadan’s traditional institution.
