Riley Moore, the U.S. Representative for West Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, has issued a warning to President Bola Tinubu, urging him not to “test” former U.S. President Donald Trump following Trump’s recent remarks about the alleged killing of Christians in Nigeria.
Earlier, Trump had warned that he could authorize U.S. military intervention if the reported genocide against Christians in Nigeria continues.
Reacting to the development, Moore cautioned the Nigerian government, saying the United States will not stand by while Christians are being killed.

“To the Government of Nigeria and President Tinubu: President Trump has provided forewarning if you do not correct the current state of inaction to stop the killing of our brothers and sisters in Christ in your country,” Moore wrote on X.
He added, “The days of the U.S. looking the other way are over – it will never happen on President Trump’s watch. I urge you to cooperate with us in preventing this atrocity that worsens every day. We want your people to live in peace – all of them, especially Christians.”

“The President has been clear. I would not test his resolve. Many have tried and all have failed. We will not allow the gates of hell to prevail against the faithful,” he concluded.
Before Trump’s statement, there had been growing allegations of a Christian genocide in Nigeria. While the Nigerian government dismissed the claims as efforts by certain actors to destabilize the country, the Christian Association of Nigeria backed the concerns, stating there is indeed an ongoing attack on Christians.
