####K1 DE ULTIMATE’S AWUJALE DREAM FACES JEOPARDY AS IJEBU RULING HOUSE ISSUES CRUCIAL DEMAND

Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has officially declared his interest in ascending one of Nigeria’s most esteemed traditional thrones, the Awujale of Ijebuland.

In a letter dated December 3, 2025, the music icon announced his intention to contest for the Awujale stool, identifying himself as a bonafide son of the Fusengbuwa ruling house.

The letter quickly circulated online, sparking widespread discussion and placing KWAM 1 at the center of a significant cultural debate.

However, the Ijebu-Ode royal family has made it clear that mere interest will not suffice; K1 De Ultimate must complete a critical task before his candidacy can advance.

The family’s chairman, Abdulateef Owoyemi, told The PUNCH that every aspirant must complete a detailed royal lineage data form, a document that traces ancestry up to seven generations, and KWAM 1 is no exception.

Owoyemi explained that the form is the foundation of the entire selection process. According to him, the ruling house is determined to prevent strangers from laying claim to the ancient throne.

He said, “The first step is to declare your lineage. Your parents, grandparents, and those before them must be traced. Only genuine members of Fusengbuwa will be allowed.”

The application form must be submitted to the head of the ruling house unit, who will verify the authenticity of the applicant’s family before any further steps can be taken.

Although the original deadline for submissions closed on December 5, the ruling house has granted KWAM 1 a five-day extension, set to expire on December 10. Owoyemi emphasized that while no eligible candidate would be excluded, every right carries with it a corresponding responsibility.

He stated, “We welcome men of influence who will strengthen the stool. But they must first prove they truly belong.”

The royal selection process is already on a strict timeline. The local government has allotted the Fusengbuwa ruling house 14 days, ending December 18, to submit their list of candidates to the kingmakers.

The kingmakers will then have seven days to choose a single name, which will be forwarded to the Ogun State governor. Following this, a 21-day government review period commences, encompassing background checks, objection submissions, and security clearance.
