BREAKING: SIX RIVERS PDP REPS DEFECT TO APC

Six lawmakers from Rivers State in the House of Representatives, all originally elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as of Tuesday.

The defecting members are Robinson Dekor, Solomon Bob, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, Blessing Amadi, and Felix Nwaeke.

During a reading of their letters of defection, Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, attributed the move to “divisions and unresolved political crisis in the PDP.”

The defectors explained that internal conflicts within the PDP had hindered their political ambitions, prompting their decision to align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

With this latest shift, the PDP’s representation from Rivers State has dwindled from 12 members to just two. Last week, the party also lost three lawmakers—Boniface Emerengwa, Awaji-Inombek Abiante, and Boma Goodhead—to the APC. The remaining PDP representatives are House Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda and Kelechi Nwogu.

The wave of defections mirrors the earlier move by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who left the PDP for the APC to support President Tinubu.
