Residents of Jabo town in Tambuwal Local Government Area, Sokoto State, were thrown into panic on Christmas night after loud explosions from what appeared to be aerial strikes rocked the community.

SaharaReporters gathered that the incident occurred suddenly when an object, suspected to be a bomb, fell into the town. Fortunately, no lives were lost, even though some debris landed near groups of people.
Photographs obtained by SaharaReporters showed fragments and debris from the aerial bombardment scattered across the area. Residents described the terrifying moment, recalling a sudden, loud blast and objects falling from the sky, with many spending the night in fear.

The explosions come shortly after former U.S. President Donald Trump announced airstrikes targeting ISIS terrorists in Northwest Nigeria.
A government source disclosed that the operation was largely coordinated through the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), headed by Nuhu Ribadu. Internal intelligence units within the NSA reportedly worked closely with the U.S. military, particularly the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), to identify and strike ISIS-linked terrorist elements as part of efforts described as their “elimination.”

The full scope of the strikes and the exact number of targets hit remain unclear. Confirmed reports indicate that one of the explosions occurred on the outskirts of Jibo village in Tambuwal LGA, Sokoto State.
