Rumours of an imminent major cabinet reshuffle in Kaduna State have gained momentum, with credible sources indicating that Governor Uba Sani is set to sack at least two commissioners over alleged incompetence and poor performance.

The officials reportedly in the line of fire are:
– Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos (Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs)
– Hon. Ahmed Maiyaki (Commissioner for Information)
Insiders claim both men have consistently failed to deliver on their mandates, prompting widespread public complaints and growing dissatisfaction within the administration and among party faithful.

Maiyaki, a former Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), is accused of being largely inaccessible to journalists, frequently ignoring calls and messages, and showing favouritism toward a small circle of media practitioners.
Mamman Lagos is said to exhibit arrogance, intimidation, and disrespect toward elders and political elites in the state, behaviour that has reportedly driven some APC members to defect from the party.

The anticipated sackings are viewed as part of a broader strategy to revitalise the administration’s image and strengthen the ruling party’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sources suggest that other commissioners’ portfolios may also be reshuffled or re-assigned as the governor seeks to reposition the government for improved performance and electoral success.

The development is being closely watched by political observers in Kaduna, who see it as a potential signal of Governor Sani’s determination to address underperformance and restore public confidence in his administration.
