Shi’ite protesters took to the streets in Numan, Adamawa State, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, to condemn the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes.

The demonstrators, including minors and women who braved harsh weather, chanted anti-American and anti-Israel slogans while publicly burning Israeli and American flags. They carried placards with inscriptions such as “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

Eyewitnesses said the protesters marched through major roads in the town, bringing vehicular movement to a standstill for several hours and causing widespread anxiety among residents.

In a separate video circulating on social media, Islamic students believed to be members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shi’ites, were seen marching on U.S. and Israeli flags.
Fact-checking traced the video to Kano State, though the exact location within Kano was not immediately confirmed at the time of this report.

The protests reflect growing solidarity among Shi’ite communities in Nigeria with Iran following the assassination of Khamenei, which has triggered widespread outrage and retaliatory military actions across the Middle East.
