JOSHUA SET TO QUIT UK FOR UAE RESIDENCY

Kingdom to Dubai, despite rising tensions in the Middle East involving the US and Iran. The 36-year-old boxer, born in Watford to Nigerian parents and a 2012 London Olympics gold medalist, has officially filed paperwork indicating his new residence in the United Arab Emirates.

Joshua’s decision comes at a time when the UAE has been under missile and drone attacks, prompting thousands of British citizens to leave the country. The paperwork, submitted last Friday, is linked to his £150 million business ventures, which require disclosure of his residential status.

Dubai’s appeal to wealthy individuals, including its tax-free policies and luxurious lifestyle, appears to have influenced Joshua’s choice. Reports indicate that his company, Sparta Promotions, recorded profits of £20.396 million in 2024, paying £6.65 million in UK taxes. Relocating to Dubai could reduce his future tax liabilities on dividends and earnings.
