SECURITY GROUP RELEASES INTEL OVER IMMINENT BANDITS ATTACK IN TARABA, SOUTHERN KADUNA, DEMANDS URGENT ACTION

A security advocacy group has raised concerns over a possible wave of coordinated attacks in parts of Taraba State and Southern Kaduna, urging residents to remain alert and calling for swift action from security agencies.

The warning was issued by Judd Saul, Executive Director of Equipping the Persecuted, in a video shared on social media. He claimed the group had received intelligence suggesting that armed fighters were mobilising for large-scale assaults in the affected areas.

According to Saul, the suspected attackers—whom he identified as Fulani ethnic militia—have been seen gathering and preparing in strategic locations, with potential attacks expected around March 23 or shortly after the Ramadan period.

He alleged that armed individuals had been spotted moving through the Donga River axis, reportedly concealing weapons while blending in with cattle herds. He also claimed that drones and heavy weapons had been observed in the area.

The group further pointed to a recent incident in the Tor, Damisa area, where several people were reportedly killed, suggesting it could be part of a broader pattern of escalating violence.

In Southern Kaduna, Saul said intelligence indicated increasing activity since March 16, particularly in Chikun, Kajuru, and Kachia Local Government Areas. He described reports of large groups moving on motorcycles through forest corridors, including the Kamuku and Birnin Gwari axis.

Residents have been advised to avoid isolated areas, remain vigilant, and report any suspicious movement to security authorities.

The group also called on the Nigerian government to take urgent steps to prevent the attacks, including disrupting the movement of armed groups and strengthening security presence in vulnerable communities.

While urging caution, the organisation stressed the importance of early intervention to prevent loss of lives, as tensions remain high in the affected regions.
