Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has affirmed that nothing can prevent the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from holding its national convention on Sunday, March 29.
Speaking at the 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Wike urged all party members to focus on genuine reconciliation and unity within the party. He emphasized that ongoing talks with the Tanimu Turaki-led faction would not delay the convention.
Wike also warned against members who aim to secure party tickets only to abandon the party later. He praised the party’s leadership for their efforts in organizing the convention and reaffirmed his commitment to building and sustaining the party’s unity.
The minister highlighted that party members must demonstrate dedication and warned that anyone showing lack of commitment during or after the convention should not return claiming allegiance. He reiterated that money and political influence are limited and that true leadership requires character and dedication.
