President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Senator Dr Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), alongside fresh nominations into the National Population Commission (NPC).
The development was announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday.
Ida, who previously represented Katsina Central in the Senate, holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and a law degree from the University of Abuja. Before his time in the Senate, he served as Commissioner of Finance in Katsina State and later as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

In addition, seven individuals have been nominated as Federal Commissioners in the National Population Commission to represent their respective states. They are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Dr Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Prof. Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).
Their appointments are subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
Tinubu also approved the appointment of Dr Yusuf Mohammed from Kano State as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaltungo.
Similarly, Bala Mohammed Bello has been appointed as Special Adviser to the President on Political Economy. Bello, an accounting graduate with an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, previously served as a Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director (Corporate Services) at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank.
According to the statement, the President expressed confidence in the ability of the appointees to contribute meaningfully to his administration’s goal of improving the lives of Nigerians.
