TINUBU HOSTS CHAD’S PRESIDENT MAHAMAT DÉBY IN ABUJA (VIDEO)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received the President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In a video shared by NTA, Tinubu was seen welcoming his Chadian counterpart before both leaders proceeded into the presidential office for a closed-door meeting.

Although the official purpose of the visit has not been disclosed, observers describe it as an important diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and Chad. Discussions are expected to centre on strengthening bilateral ties, regional security cooperation, and economic partnerships—especially within the Lake Chad Basin, where both countries share strategic interests.

The meeting comes at a time when security concerns remain high in parts of the region, making cooperation between neighbouring countries increasingly critical.

Following the talks, President Tinubu is expected to travel to Plateau State for a state visit, amid ongoing concerns over recent violent attacks in some communities
