FIRM UNVEILS GREEN OFFICES IN LEKKI

Irele Tower has officially opened within the Lagos Free Trade Zone, adding significant office space as the Lekki corridor continues to expand and attract new investments.

The nine-storey building provides about 12,000 square metres of office and retail space, strengthening the zone’s capacity to meet growing demand from both local and international businesses seeking close access to port, logistics, and industrial infrastructure.

Designed as an EDGE-certified building by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the tower incorporates resource-efficient features aimed at reducing operational costs and environmental impact. It is built to consume about 26 per cent less energy and 46 per cent less water compared to conventional structures, while also improving indoor environmental quality for occupants.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the project as a reflection of the state’s infrastructure-driven growth strategy, noting that the Lagos Free Trade Zone remains central to efforts aimed at industrialisation, job creation, and economic diversification.

Managing Director of Lagos Free Zone Company, Adesuwa Ladoja, said the development aligns with the zone’s vision of creating an integrated business hub supported by strong infrastructure, strategic location, and efficient logistics. She added that demand for modern, high-quality workspaces has continued to rise alongside increasing investor interest in the Lekki axis.

Also speaking, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Yemisi Edun, said the bank’s early support for the project reflects confidence in the long-term potential of the zone. She noted that Irele Tower stands as an example of coordinated financing and development, adding that FCMB remains committed to supporting further growth following its recapitalisation.

With the addition of Irele Tower, the Lagos Free Trade Zone continues to position itself as a key hub connecting industry, trade, and services, while also promoting sustainable building practices in the rapidly developing corridor.
