Passengers travelling to Nigeria on an Air Peace flight from London Heathrow were left frustrated after repeated delays forced them to spend the night at the airport.
According to those on board, the flight was originally scheduled to depart at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday. It was first pushed back to 10:20 p.m., but after that, passengers say there was little to no communication from airline staff about what was happening next.
Tensions rose as the hours passed without clear updates. Some passengers reportedly confronted the airline’s operational manager out of frustration.

“We were meant to leave at 9:20 p.m., then they shifted it to 10:20 p.m. After that, nobody was telling us anything again. That was when people got angry,” one passenger said.
By the early hours of Sunday morning, travellers were taken to a nearby hotel. Later, the airline sent out a message apologising for the disruption and rescheduled the flight to 3:00 p.m. that same day.
Many passengers described the experience as disorganised, saying the lack of timely information made the situation worse.

An Air Peace official, however, said the delay was caused by a technical issue and insisted that the airline followed proper procedures. According to the official, passengers were informed and provided with hotel accommodation in line with aviation regulations.
The airline also offered affected travellers options to reschedule or board alternative flights.
Despite this, the incident adds to growing concerns among passengers about flight disruptions and communication gaps, especially on international routes. Aviation authorities are already looking into similar complaints to ensure airlines meet required standards and protect passenger rights.
