TINUBU TO INAUGURATE OPEBI–MENDE LINK BRIDGE THIS WEEK – LASG

President Bola Tinubu is set to inaugurate the Opebi–Mende Link Bridge in Lagos later this week, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.

The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, who shared the update on social media alongside a video of the completed project.

“The Ojota-Opebi link bridge is ready! It will be flagged off this week by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is a transformational and strategic project delivered by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu — a promise made and fulfilled,” he said.

The Lagos State Government also described the bridge as a key project designed to improve connectivity and ease traffic across the city. By linking Opebi in Ikeja to Mende in Maryland, the bridge is expected to open up a new route for motorists and reduce congestion along major roads such as Allen Avenue, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, and Ikorodu Road.

Officials say the project will significantly cut travel time, reduce commuting stress, and improve daily movement for residents. It also reflects collaboration between key government ministries, particularly Transportation and Works, in delivering impactful infrastructure.

The bridge is expected to serve as an alternative route for drivers navigating some of Lagos’ busiest corridors, especially around Ikeja and Maryland, where traffic congestion has long been a challenge.
