The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, stated at a press briefing that the deployment is part of measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, adequate security, and minimal disruption to residents during the commissioning of major projects by the Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.

“We are coordinating closely with federal and state agencies to ensure the President’s visit is seamless, secure, and befitting of the occasion,” Omotoso said. He urged residents to cooperate with traffic advisories and security guidelines issued ahead of the visit.

General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, added that the additional officers would be stationed at strategic routes to manage vehicular movement effectively, reduce inconvenience, and support broader inter-agency traffic management plans. He also noted that alternative traffic arrangements would be communicated in advance and appealed to motorists to follow temporary diversions.

The visit will include the inauguration of several landmark projects, including the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service Building, the Alausa Multi-Agency Complex named after the President, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle, and the Mid-Level Agro-Produce Hub in Abijo, Ibeju-Lekki along the Lekki-Epe corridor.

Omotoso highlighted that the Tolu Schools Complex spans 11.73 hectares and comprises 36 public schools, serving about 20,000 pupils, with upgraded classroom blocks, ICT hubs, laboratories, sports facilities, health centers, solar panels, and inclusive buildings for persons living with disabilities.

The Alausa Multi-Agency Complex is designed to integrate multiple government agencies within Ikeja, occupying 2.01 hectares with four blocks, a penthouse for conferences, and parking for 300 vehicles.

The 5.04-kilometre Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge was revived by the Sanwo-Olu administration to ease long-standing traffic challenges in the Ikeja metropolitan area.

Omotoso said the President’s visit underscores the collaboration between the federal and Lagos State governments and highlights the importance of continuity in governance.
