The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the suspension of its planned congresses across all 25 local government areas in Niger State until further notice.

Chairman Musa Hassan stated that the decision aligns with the rule of law, due process, and judicial authority. He also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state not to recognise any congresses conducted by unauthorised committees.

Hassan urged the public and party members to disregard any announcements or actions from individuals claiming to represent the party without proper authorisation. A new date for the congresses will be communicated once national consultations and meetings are concluded.

“The tenure of the current ADC Executive Committee in Niger State, as well as in other states, remains constitutionally valid and recognised by INEC,” Hassan emphasised, calling on members to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding during this period.
