The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released an updated list of its national convention planning committee and subcommittees ahead of its upcoming national convention scheduled for April 14, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the revision of the committee list is intended to improve coordination and ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible convention process.
The party explained that the updated appointments form part of its broader preparations for the national convention and urged all committee members to carry out their duties responsibly while encouraging stakeholders to support the exercise.

The list, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, includes key appointments such as Senator Liyel Imoke as Chairman of the National Convention Central Coordination Committee, with Senator Aminu Tambuwal serving as Deputy Chairman.

The development comes amid ongoing internal leadership disputes within the African Democratic Congress and reported tensions involving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has reportedly withheld recognition of the Senator David Mark-led faction pending court determinations.

Despite the challenges, the party insists it remains committed to holding its congresses and national convention as part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
