The attack reportedly occurred around midday on Wednesday, with local authorities confirming that the civilian victim was a woman.

According to the Local Government Chairman, Mada Saidu, the incident involved an attempted incursion into the community, which was met with resistance from troops on ground.

Military sources said the fallen soldiers were members of the 115 Task Force Battalion who engaged the attackers to prevent them from entering the town. They noted that the assault appeared coordinated, though the number of insurgents was not large.

Residents described moments of panic as heavy gunfire lasted for about 30 minutes, forcing many to flee their homes before calm was restored.

Community members added that the military response helped prevent further destruction, even though casualties were recorded during the exchange.

The latest incident adds to ongoing insecurity challenges in parts of Borno State, where armed groups have continued to target both civilians and security forces.
