Hakeem Bamgbola, a commissioner in the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), has declared his support for a group of aspirants contesting various legislative seats in Surulere ahead of the upcoming elections in Lagos State.

Among those endorsed is Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, who is vying for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Surulere Constituency II.
Bamgbola also backed Barakat Odunnuga-Bakare for Surulere Constituency I, as well as Fuad Laguda and Lanre Okunola for the House of Representatives seats in Surulere Constituencies I and II respectively.

He described the aspirants as experienced, credible, and well-positioned to deliver effective representation, adding that their emergence would strengthen governance and development across the area.
According to him, supporting younger candidates like Damilola Marshal would also encourage greater youth and women participation in politics, while bringing fresh energy into legislative responsibilities.

He further noted that continuity and performance should guide voters’ choices, especially in the case of incumbents, while stressing the importance of unity among party members in achieving electoral success.
Bamgbola expressed confidence that the endorsed candidates would promote closer collaboration between state and federal representatives, leading to improved development outcomes for Surulere residents.
