UBER DRIVER TRACKED TO HOME AFTER STEALING IPHONE 16 IN LAGOS (VIDEO)

An Uber driver has been arrested after allegedly disappearing with an iPhone 16 meant for delivery in Lagos, following the cancellation of a trip midway.

The incident came to light after an X user, Ashake (known as #Molayoo_), raised an alarm on Saturday, calling out Uber and sharing screenshots of the delivery request.

According to her, the driver picked up the package from Egbeda for delivery to Ikeja but cancelled the trip halfway and became unreachable.

“This is someone’s business. We need the package,” she wrote, identifying the driver as Augustine Adimabua.

Days later, she provided an update confirming that the driver had been tracked to his residence and handed over to authorities.

She further alleged that the phone, valued at over ₦1 million, had been sold for ₦400,000.

In videos circulating online, the driver admitted to receiving the iPhone 16 but claimed it was later stolen. His explanation was met with scepticism, as those confronting him accused him of being dishonest.

The situation reportedly became tense during the confrontation, with the driver appearing uneasy and a woman believed to be his wife visibly shocked by the development.

The incident has since gone viral, sparking reactions from social media users, many of whom shared similar experiences involving missing or stolen delivery items.
