King Charles III is being kept fully informed following a shooting incident at a high-profile dinner attended by the US President and First Lady, just hours before his planned state visit to the United States.
The British monarch, who is scheduled to travel for a four-day visit, is said to be relieved that Donald Trump, the First Lady, and other guests were unharmed during the incident.
According to Buckingham Palace, officials are now reviewing whether the situation could affect the planned itinerary of the visit, which is due to begin on Monday.

A Palace spokesperson confirmed that discussions are ongoing between UK and US officials to assess if any adjustments are needed.
Behind the scenes, it is understood that the King and Queen Camilla privately reached out to the President and First Lady, expressing concern for those affected and appreciation for the swift response of security personnel.
The incident occurred during the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, held at the Washington Hilton, where panic broke out after gunshots were reported inside the venue.

Secret Service agents quickly evacuated the President and senior officials to safety. One officer was reportedly injured but survived thanks to a bulletproof vest and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Authorities have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from California, who was reportedly among the guests at the event and allegedly armed with both a shotgun and a handgun.
Investigations are ongoing as security agencies work to determine the motive behind the attack, while attention remains on whether the incident will have any impact on the upcoming royal visit.
