German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has reportedly taken legal steps against Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen over an alleged unpaid vehicle leasing debt linked to a luxury SUV acquired during his spell in Italian football.

According to reports from Italian media, the company filed a case in Italy claiming that Osimhen failed to complete payment obligations on a leasing agreement signed in 2023 while he was playing for SSC Napoli.
The vehicle involved is said to be a Mercedes GLE hybrid SUV, with outstanding instalments reportedly accumulating to around €90,000. It is also alleged that the car was not returned after the lease agreement expired.

Italian publications further report that Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italia S.p.A. lodged a formal complaint with authorities in Milan, leading to a review of the matter by law enforcement officials.

The case is being examined under possible misappropriation-related provisions under Italian law, which deal with the unlawful retention or use of property.
Osimhen, who reportedly earned significant wages during his time in Serie A before moving to Galatasaray S.K. in 2024, has not issued a public response regarding the allegations at the time of reporting.
