PDP LEADERS RECONVENE AFTER SUPREME COURT RULING ON PARTY CRISIS

Top leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, are currently holding an emergency closed-door meeting in Abuja following the recent Supreme Court judgment on the party’s leadership dispute.

The meeting, which is taking place at Bauchi House in the Asokoro area of Abuja, is still ongoing as of press time.

Also in attendance are members of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), the National Executive Committee (NEC), the National Caucus, the party’s National Assembly caucus, state chairmen, and other key stakeholders.

The gathering is understood to be focused on the implications of the Supreme Court ruling and possible next steps to stabilise the party amid its ongoing internal crisis.

Earlier, the BoT, led by its chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, had announced plans to take temporary charge of the party’s affairs pending the constitution of a caretaker leadership structure.

The emergency nature of the meeting underscores the growing urgency within the PDP to resolve its leadership challenges and present a united front ahead of future political engagements.
