Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed reports claiming it increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, insisting that its ex-depot price remains unchanged.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the refinery described the reports circulating on social media, especially on X, as false and misleading.
The company clarified that it had not raised its petrol loading price, contrary to widespread claims that the price had been increased by ₦75 — from ₦1,275 per litre to ₦1,350 per litre.

According to the refinery, its decision to maintain the current price structure reflects its commitment to supporting stability in Nigeria’s energy market and reducing pressure on the economy.
The clarification comes amid concerns over rising global crude oil prices linked to growing tensions in the Middle East, which had fueled speculation about a possible hike in local fuel prices.
Dangote Refinery said it is continuing to absorb prevailing cost pressures in order to help moderate inflation, ensure affordability of petroleum products, and maintain steady supply across the country.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to supplying high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market while supporting national goals around energy security and price stability.
It also urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited for accurate and up-to-date information regarding its operations and pricing.
