Vice-President Kashim Shettima has officially submitted President Bola Tinubu’s expression of interest and nomination forms to national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling the President’s intention to seek re-election in 2027.
The forms were presented on Thursday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja as preparations gradually begin within the ruling party ahead of the next presidential election.
In a statement shared on his X account, Shettima urged APC stakeholders, including governors, lawmakers, and party officials, to unite behind Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
He stated that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda has shown strong commitment toward addressing Nigeria’s economic and social challenges, adding that the administration’s achievements should encourage continued support from Nigerians and members of the party.
Speaking during the submission ceremony, the Vice-President described the nomination form as “priceless,” while expressing confidence in the administration’s direction and leadership.
The latest development follows the earlier collection of the APC expression of interest and nomination forms by James Faleke, member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke obtained the forms in Abuja after the APC officially opened the process through its National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of Works, David Umahi, also endorsed the forms as part of the process marking the formal beginning of Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
