It was learnt that Tinubu’s aircraft touched down at about 7:12 p.m. at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
According to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President was received by Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat; Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa; and other government officials.
“President Tinubu, while in France, met with global investors, emphasising transparency and fiscal discipline and explaining the rationale for the swift implementation of the bold economic reforms his administration has instituted.

“He also participated in the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by President Emmanuel Macron and President William Ruto.

“At the event, President Tinubu called for a reform of global financial architecture and a stronger economic integration that prioritises Africa’s growth and prosperity.

“He also highlighted Nigeria’s potential in the blue economy as one of the cornerstones of Africa’s development, with a commitment to share Nigeria’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with willing Gulf of Guinea states,” the statement read.

During his stay in Nairobi, Tinubu held a bilateral meeting with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, Rwanda, he joined other African leaders, investors and chief executive officers at the Africa CEO Forum, where discussions focused on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investments.
He also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and delegations from multilateral and multinational firms, including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and the Winme Group.

According to the statement, the meetings recorded “notable favourable outcomes.”
Tinubu also participated in panel sessions and discussions centred on his administration’s economic reform agenda.

The statement further disclosed that the President would participate in the All Progressives Congress primaries scheduled to begin on Saturday while in Lagos, a move political observers describe as a strong signal of respect for democratic process, electoral law, and internal party accountability.

In his May 14 message to APC members nationwide, Tinubu described the primaries as “a referendum on our unity, resilience and strength as a party,” stressing that the exercise must strengthen democracy, peace, and party cohesion. “Election is an essential ingredient of democracy,” the President declared, while urging party leaders to provide “a level playing field that guarantees participation without let or hindrance.”

The President also warned against rancour, imposition, and divisive conduct capable of weakening the party, insisting that aspirants must peacefully test their popularity, grassroots acceptance, and political capital through transparent primaries.
Analysts say Tinubu’s personal participation in the presidential primary reinforces growing calls within the APC for free, fair, and credible contests nationwide rather than opaque consensus arrangements capable of undermining party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The National Patriots have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for leading by example by personally presenting himself for the APC presidential primaries in line with electoral law and democratic principles. The group questioned why any governor or party leader would attempt to impose undemocratic consensus arrangements or compel aspirants to sign questionable withdrawal documents. According to the group, every aspirant must openly test political strength and grassroots support through transparent primaries supervised by INEC officials, whose duty is to ensure credibility, fairness, and lawful compliance throughout the exercise.
