BOLA AHMED TINUBU RECEIVES APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY CERTIFICATE OF RETURN AFTER LANDSLIDE VICTORY

Tinubu Receives Certificate of Return After Landslide APC Presidential Primary Victory

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday formally received his Certificate of Return following his overwhelming victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The certificate was presented by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, shortly after Tinubu was declared winner of the party’s presidential ticket.

The presentation comes after Tinubu defeated his sole opponent, Stanley Osifo, in the primary held on Saturday.

According to the Chairman of the APC Presidential Primary Election Committee, Pius Anyim, President Tinubu secured a total of 10,999,162 votes, while Osifo polled 16,503 votes nationwide.

Across the country, APC state collation officers — many of them governors — announced near-total dominance for the President in their respective states, with multiple reports showing overwhelming support for Tinubu and, in some cases, zero votes for his challenger.

Strong nationwide dominance

In Rivers State, Tinubu reportedly polled 280,468 votes across the 23 local government areas, with Osifo recording no votes. Bayelsa State also delivered 277,192 votes for Tinubu across 105 wards, while Edo State returned 131,096 votes for the President and just one vote for Osifo.

Abia State results showed Tinubu winning 161,005 votes against 1,002 for Osifo, while Delta State recorded 407,646 votes for the President with zero votes for his opponent.

In Kogi State, Tinubu secured 197,370 votes out of the total accredited voters, while in Gombe State, he reportedly polled 450,516 votes with Osifo again scoring zero.

Zamfara State also delivered a strong margin, with Tinubu winning 321,579 votes against 42 for Osifo. Osun State recorded 100,880 votes for the President, while Ebonyi State reported a clean sweep of 207,579 votes.

Kwara State added 310,990 votes to Tinubu’s tally, while Sokoto State returned 301,000 votes in his favour. Kaduna State also recorded massive turnout across all 255 wards, with party leaders describing the process as peaceful and highly coordinated.

Official declaration

Announcing the final results, Anyim said the exercise reflected a highly participatory process across APC structures nationwide.

He confirmed that out of over 11 million accredited voters, more than 11 million valid votes were cast, with President Tinubu securing the overwhelming majority.

“With these results, I hereby declare His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the duly elected presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress,” he said.

Certificate of Return presented

Following the declaration, Tinubu was officially handed his Certificate of Return by the APC leadership in Abuja, confirming him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election.

The APC had earlier conducted its primaries across 8,809 wards in all 774 local government areas of the country, with party governors and stakeholders serving as collation officers in several states.

Party officials described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and widely supported by members across the federation.
