OPPOSITION PARTIES TARGET AGGRIEVED APC ASPIRANTS AFTER CONTROVERSIAL PRIMARIES CRISIS

Fresh political realignments may be unfolding ahead of the 2027 elections as opposition parties intensify efforts to attract aggrieved APC aspirants and stakeholders dissatisfied with the conduct of recent party primaries across parts of the country.

Reports reaching Headlinenews.news indicate that both the NDC and ADC have commenced strategic consultations with influential APC members allegedly sidelined during controversial consensus arrangements and disputed primaries, particularly aspirants who reportedly purchased nomination forms worth between ₦20 million and ₦50 million but were allegedly denied the opportunity to participate in direct primaries in accordance with party regulations.

Sources disclosed that many of the affected aspirants remain disappointed and embittered, despite commanding significant grassroots followership, political structures and loyal supporters capable of influencing electoral outcomes in their respective constituencies.

A senior figure within the NDC who spoke anonymously to Headlinenews.news claimed the opposition was prepared to engage aggrieved APC stakeholders across several states.

“We will speak to those who were politically robbed during the primaries because we are building a credible political platform,” the source said.

The source further alleged that developments surrounding the Kano Central Senatorial primaries had generated serious concern among opposition strategists.

“What happened in Kano Central was gross injustice. Party members reportedly waited for hours under the sun expecting direct primaries, while electoral officers were allegedly kept within Government House premises. Such actions create disaffection within any political party,” the source added.

Headlinenews.news also gathered that ADC operatives have intensified efforts to attract politically influential APC figures perceived to have been unfairly treated during the primaries process.

Investigations further revealed that Dr. Mohammed Musa Zango of Kano Central Senatorial zone is among individuals opposition parties are reportedly interested in approaching, although sources confirmed he is presently out of town.

Meanwhile, political observers warn that the APC leadership may need urgent reconciliation efforts with aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders if the party hopes to maintain unity and political stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.
