The 2026 edition of the Ojude Oba Festival, held three days after Eid al-Kabir in Ijebu Ode, once again affirmed its status as one of Nigeria’s most vibrant cultural gatherings, attracting more than 100,000 participants from different parts of the country and the diaspora.

The annual celebration featured the well-known regberegbe age-grade displays, elegant horse-riding performances by members of the Balogun families, and richly designed traditional outfits that showcased a strong blend of Yoruba heritage and Islamic cultural influence.
One of the most talked-about highlights of the event was the grand appearance of Farooq Oreagba, who arrived on horseback in a striking green and gold outfit, drawing significant attention from attendees and social media audiences.

Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus also made a notable appearance, captivating guests with her gold-beaded traditional attire that added glamour to the cultural celebration.
Another moment that drew public attention was the appearance of a participant dressed in full traditional attire while smoking a cigar, adding a playful and modern twist to the otherwise deeply cultural event.

The festival also attracted prominent political and public figures, including Seyi Tinubu and several state governors, further emphasizing its importance as both a cultural and tourism-driven event.

Families and groups participated in coordinated Yoruba attire displays, showcasing elegance, unity, and pride in tradition—one of the defining features of the Ojude Oba Festival.
This year’s celebration further reinforced Ojude Oba’s reputation as a global cultural showcase that continues to promote Yoruba identity, fashion, and heritage on a large scale.
