The Osun State Governorship Campaign Council Diaspora Committee of the All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) to immediately freeze alleged bank accounts linked to the payment of ₦13.7 billion said to be associated with ghost workers in Osun State.

The group alleged that the funds could be diverted for vote-buying ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
Speaking in Osogbo, the committee’s secretary, Tunmise Ajiboye, claimed that a consultant hired by the state government in 2023 uncovered that over ₦13.7 billion was being paid annually to ghost workers, adding that one individual allegedly received salaries meant for thousands of workers.

The APC committee further alleged that key officials in the state government were connected to the payroll controversy, accusing authorities of ignoring the matter despite earlier public disclosures.
It also claimed to have petitioned foreign embassies, including those of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, seeking travel restrictions on certain individuals linked to the allegations until cleared by anti-corruption agencies.
The group urged anti-graft bodies, including the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), to investigate the alleged diversion of public funds, insisting that the money belonged to the people of Osun State.

The committee also criticised the state government’s performance, alleging unfulfilled campaign promises, while expressing confidence that the APC would win the 2026 governorship election
