Troops operating under Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly eliminated two suspected members of a terrorist intelligence network during a security patrol near the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Borno State.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the 152 Battalion based in Banki, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

According to security reports, the suspects were intercepted on June 21 after crossing into Nigerian territory from the Cameroonian side of the border.
Intelligence gathered before the operation indicated that the individuals were suspected of having ties to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Authorities believe they may have entered the country to monitor military activities, gather intelligence on troop movements, or obtain supplies for insurgent fighters operating within the region.
The suspects were reportedly observed scaling the border fence, prompting security forces to set up an ambush. A confrontation followed, during which both men were killed.

After the encounter, troops conducted a thorough search of the area and increased surveillance efforts along key sections of the border to prevent further infiltration by suspected terrorist operatives and collaborators.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to reinforce border security and dismantle support structures used by insurgent groups in the North-East.

Military sources disclosed that troops remain vigilant across the operational theatre to restrict the movement of terrorists and disrupt their access to logistics and other resources.
While security conditions in the region have shown signs of improvement, authorities maintain that the threat posed by insurgent groups requires continuous monitoring and rapid response measures.
Operation Hadin Kai has continued to intensify offensive missions and border patrols aimed at curbing cross-border terrorist activities and reducing the operational strength of armed extremist groups in the region.
