MAKINDE SACKS COMMISSIONER IN STRATEGIC CABINET RESHUFFLE.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has relieved the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Toyin Balogun, of her appointment and immediately appointed Faosat Sanni as her replacement.

The development was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju.

According to the statement, the governor approved a ADS 5

minor cabinet reshuffle that saw Faosat Sanni redeployed to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, where she now replaces Balogun.

The statement noted that the changes take immediate effect.

Governor Makinde expressed appreciation to Toyin Balogun for her contributions to the growth and development of Oyo State during her time in office and wished her success in her future endeavours.

Faosat Sanni previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023. She was later redeployed to the Ministry of Special Duties before moving to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative prior to her latest appointment.

The latest cabinet adjustment follows the governor’s recent nomination of Olabode Ladipo, the Permanent Secretary for General Administration, to the Oyo State House of Assembly for confirmation as a commissioner.

Governor Makinde also approved the appointment of Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Isola Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs and Oladejo Oladokun as a part-time member of the Local Government Service Commission.

According to a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, the appointments took effect from July 1, 2026.

The governor congratulated the newly appointed officials and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, loyalty and commitment to the service of the state.

Earlier in January 2026, Makinde carried out another cabinet reshuffle in which the former Secretary to the State Government, Olanike Adeyemo, was removed from office and replaced by Musibau Babatunde.

During the same exercise, Barrister Temilolu Ashamu was transferred from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Ademola Aderinto was also named a commissioner-designate, while Abiodun Adedoja and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu were appointed as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning, respectively.
