The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark to enhance maritime security, border governance and migration management.

The partnership was discussed during a meeting at the NIS Headquarters in Abuja, where the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Border Management, A.R. Sabo, represented the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, and received a delegation from the Royal Danish Embassy led by the Deputy Head of Mission, Julie Rosenkilde Hannibal.

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in tackling maritime security challenges within the Gulf of Guinea, improving border security, combating irregular migration and promoting safe, orderly and regular migration.
Both sides also explored opportunities for stronger technical cooperation, capacity building and information sharing to support their shared security and migration objectives.

Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Comptroller General reaffirmed the Nigeria Immigration Service’s commitment to building a stronger partnership with Denmark to enhance regional security, improve border management and support sustainable migration policies.

He also appreciated the Danish delegation for the visit, expressing confidence that the collaboration would contribute significantly to the achievement of mutual security and development goals.
