UZODIMMA LIKENS TINUBU’S REFORM AGENDA TO LEE KUAN YEW’S TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has likened President Bola Tinubu to Singapore’s founding leader, Lee Kuan Yew, praising the President’s economic reforms and expressing confidence that Nigerians will re-elect him in 2027.

Uzodimma made the remarks during a state dinner in Owerri held at the end of the three-day Renewed Hope Ambassadors National Media Tour and an inspection of major Federal and Imo State Government projects by the Presidential Communications Team.

The governor said President Tinubu assumed office with a clear understanding of Nigeria’s economic challenges and immediately introduced far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the country for long-term growth.

According to him, the reforms marked the beginning of a new phase in Nigeria’s development, adding that although the policies initially brought hardship, they are already yielding positive results through increased government revenues and improved development across states.

Uzodimma stated that many of the ongoing infrastructure, healthcare, education and technology projects in Imo State were made possible by the Renewed Hope Agenda and the fiscal benefits arising from the Federal Government’s economic reforms.

He expressed optimism that the gains of the administration’s policies would become more evident over time and predicted that President Tinubu would secure a second term in office during the 2027 general election.

Meanwhile, the Presidency commended the Imo State Government for its infrastructure development following the inspection of several projects across the state.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, said the projects reflected the practical implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda through collaboration between the Federal Government and Imo State.

Among the projects highlighted were the Imo Digital City, the 2,000-bed Infectious Disease Centre, the Heart Transplant Centre in Orlu, the University of Innovation Science and Technology at Omuma, the expansion of the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Convention Centre and the Orlu-Akokwa-Uga Border Road.
