The Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Limited, Mrs. Yemisi Joluwe, has revealed that she was the person who initiated the arrest of All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, over allegations of blackmail, cyber harassment and activities she claims threatened her safety and business operations.
Speaking in a video that circulated online following Olawumi’s arrest, Joluwe identified herself as the complainant in the case and called for justice, alleging that Olawumi had subjected her to repeated harassment and blackmail.
Joluwe claimed she was disappointed with the Ekiti State Government, alleging that she did not receive enough support because she is not originally from the state, while the accused is an indigene.
The arrest of Olawumi had initially sparked reports that she was kidnapped. Earlier accounts suggested that she was allegedly taken by armed men in Abuja shortly after leaving the Court of Appeal, where she had gone to collect Certified True Copies of documents connected to her legal challenge over the APC governorship primary election in Ekiti State.
However, Joluwe later stated that the matter was connected to a complaint she filed against Olawumi. She alleged that Olawumi published her private phone number in the media, leading to harassment and intimidation from members of the public.
She also accused Olawumi of being linked to the alleged abduction of two of her workers, claiming that one of them was later killed. Joluwe said the incident had caused serious emotional and financial pressure, adding that the deceased left behind a wife and five children.
According to her, suspected kidnappers had visited her residence on two occasions and allegedly threatened to abduct her. She said she has recordings and other evidence to support her claims.
Joluwe insisted that legal procedures must be followed and that no person should take the law into their own hands. She vowed to continue seeking justice through the appropriate authorities.
She further expressed dissatisfaction with the Ekiti State Government, stating that as an investor contributing to the state’s economy, she expected stronger support and protection from the authorities.
