ADC Secretary in Gombe Defects to PDP, Backs Pantami’s 2027 Governorship Bid
The Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe Local Government Area of Gombe State, Hon. Babangida Usman, popularly known as Babangida Ventures, has resigned from the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Babangida announced his resignation in Gombe after stepping down from his position as ADC Local Government Secretary before officially defecting to the PDP.
He said his decision was based on his belief that Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the PDP governorship candidate, has the experience, competence and leadership ability needed to take Gombe State to a higher level.
Describing Pantami as the most credible aspirant in the 2027 governorship race, Babangida expressed confidence that the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy would bring meaningful development and progress to the state if elected.
He explained that his move to the PDP was motivated by his desire to support Pantami’s ambition and contribute to the transformation of Gombe State.
The defection adds to the growing political movements in the state following Pantami’s emergence as the PDP governorship candidate, with several politicians and supporters from different political backgrounds showing support for his candidacy.
