NASARAWA PROJECTS HIT N90BN AS SULE CREDITS TINUBU’S REFORMS FOR INCREASED FUNDING

Nasarawa Projects Hit N90bn as Sule Credits Tinubu’s Reforms for Increased Funding

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has credited President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms with increasing the funds available to the state for development projects.

Sule made the remarks on Saturday when he received the Presidential Media Team/Renewed Hope Ambassadors (PMT/RHA), which visited the state to inspect federal and state government projects.

The governor said Nasarawa had executed projects worth more than N90 billion using the increased allocations it now receives from the Federation Account, stressing that the projects were completed without borrowing from banks.

According to Sule, the state previously received about N4.5 billion monthly from the Federation Account before Tinubu removed the fuel subsidy and introduced other economic reforms.

He said the state’s monthly allocation has since risen to between N14 billion and N16 billion, providing additional resources for development.

“We were getting N4.5 billion as monthly allocation from the Federation Account until President Tinubu boldly removed fuel subsidy and introduced other economic reforms,” Sule said.

“Following the removal of fuel subsidy, we now receive between N14 billion to N16 billion monthly.

“As a result of the increased funding, we have been able to carry out many projects in education, health and agriculture to add value to our people.”

The governor said the additional funds had enabled his administration to invest heavily in education, including the construction of skills acquisition centres and a post-retirement skills acquisition programme for retirees.

Sule also attributed the operation of two lithium production plants in the state to what he described as the conducive business environment created by the Tinubu administration’s policies.

He praised Tinubu for removing the fuel subsidy and liberalising the foreign exchange market, describing the decisions as bold steps that had supported increased funding and industrial development.

Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who led the media team to the Government House, said Nigerians were beginning to benefit from what he described as the difficult economic decisions taken by Tinubu since assuming office in 2023.

Onanuga also described the past three years of the administration as a period of active and beneficial democratic governance.

The PMT/RHA is in Nasarawa State to inspect development projects being undertaken by both the federal and state governments.
