APC WITHDRAWS PETITION CHALLENGING ADELEKE’S RE-ELECTION VICTORY

The All Progressives Congress has moved to withdraw its petition challenging the re-election of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The development came shortly after the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal displayed petitions filed against the outcome of the 2026 governorship election.

The petition was reportedly filed in the name of the APC and its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, who had contested the election against Adeleke.

The decision to withdraw the case has added another twist to the legal battle surrounding the Osun governorship election, which saw Adeleke emerge victorious.

The withdrawal is expected to bring an end to the APC’s challenge to the election result before the tribunal, although questions have emerged over the circumstances surrounding the petition and the party’s decision to discontinue the case.
