Nafiu said the Budget Office was aware of the upward review, adding that the increased allocation was expected to take effect in 2027.

He urged corps members to manage their finances responsibly, avoid extravagant spending and develop a consistent savings habit.

The NYSC chief also commended Nigerian youths for their resilience and commitment to national service. He advised corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling, recommending that they stop their journeys before 6 p.m. when necessary and continue the following day.

The adjustment is expected to improve feeding arrangements for corps members during orientation, although the specific amount of the increase has not been disclosed.
