Former presiding and principal officers of the Kaduna State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have agreed to establish a united political front to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The decision was reached during a meeting held on Monday at the Kaduna State Civil Service Commission. The gathering focused on strengthening political structures and coordinating support for the APC leadership ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The meeting was chaired by a former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Muazu Usman Gangara, and attended by former presiding and principal officers representing constituencies across the state.
According to reports, the participants emphasised the need for unity, strategic coordination and sustained grassroots engagement to consolidate the party’s support base across Kaduna State.

FORMER LAWMAKERS TO LEVERAGE GRASSROOTS NETWORKS
The proposed political alliance is expected to draw on the former lawmakers’ legislative experience, established political relationships and connections with communities across Kaduna State.
Through the initiative, the former assembly leaders intend to coordinate mobilisation efforts in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid and Governor Uba Sani’s ambition to secure a second term in office in 2027.

The participants also stressed the importance of maintaining regular contact with grassroots stakeholders and strengthening cooperation among party members to expand the APC’s political reach throughout the state.
Their meeting comes ahead of the presidential campaign flag-off scheduled for 24 October 2026 in Kaduna, an event expected to form part of the party’s preparations for the next general elections.
The former legislative officers expressed their commitment to working together to strengthen the APC’s political structures and mobilise support for its candidates across Kaduna State.
The development represents another effort by party stakeholders to consolidate their political base and organise for the electoral contests ahead.
