Several prominent political figures, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun and former Nigerian Ports Authority Managing Director Hadiza Bala-Usman, have been named in a list of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.

The council was constituted ahead of the 2027 general election as the ruling party begins preparations for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
The appointments bring together serving political officeholders, former governors, party leaders and other influential figures expected to contribute to the party’s campaign activities.
President Tinubu will chair the council, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima will serve as the first vice-chairman. APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has been appointed the second vice-chairman.
Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as Director-General of the campaign council. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has been named secretary.

APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman have been appointed deputy secretary and assistant secretary, respectively.
The council also includes senior party figures and government officials assigned to oversee various campaign responsibilities, including mobilisation, election planning, logistics, finance, legal affairs and media communications.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other prominent political leaders have also been assigned roles intended to strengthen coordination across the country’s geopolitical zones.

The campaign structure is expected to bring together party stakeholders and supporters to promote the APC’s record in government and mobilise voters ahead of the next presidential election.
President Tinubu has urged members of the council to work towards securing victory for the party. The Presidency has also encouraged campaign officials to involve other party members who may not have been directly named in the appointments.
The council’s formation represents a significant step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 election, with its members expected to coordinate campaign strategy and strengthen the party’s nationwide political network.
