Oladeji said the reported appointment had raised concerns about Accord’s political identity, the interests of its candidates and the party’s chances in future elections.

In an open letter addressed to the party’s national leadership on Saturday, he questioned the political implications of Adeleke’s reported role, noting that the governor was elected on the platform of Accord.
The Lagos chairman explained that his intervention was not intended to challenge the authority of the party’s National Working Committee or any other recognised party organ. Rather, he described it as a legitimate effort to seek accountability and clarity about the party’s political direction.
According to Oladeji, party members have the right to ask questions about decisions that could affect their political platform and future electoral prospects.

He acknowledged Adeleke’s right to make personal political decisions but stressed that such decisions should also be considered in relation to the interests and objectives of Accord.
Oladeji argued that Adeleke’s position as a governor elected under the party’s banner made his political alignment particularly important to Accord members, candidates and supporters.
He maintained that the party must preserve its independent political identity and ensure that its candidates receive the support needed to compete successfully in elections nationwide.
The chairman also urged Adeleke to remain committed to the electoral ambitions of Accord candidates, pointing out that party members had contributed to his emergence as governor.

While acknowledging that political cooperation between individuals and parties was not necessarily wrong, Oladeji insisted that the terms, objectives and possible consequences of such arrangements must be clearly communicated to party members and candidates.
He expressed concern that uncertainty surrounding Adeleke’s reported appointment could create confusion about the party’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Oladeji reaffirmed his commitment to seeking clarification through the appropriate party channels, stressing that his actions were aimed at protecting Accord’s interests rather than creating unnecessary conflict within its leadership.
He therefore called on the national leadership to explain the party’s political direction and clarify how Adeleke’s reported involvement in Tinubu’s re-election campaign would affect Accord’s plans and electoral ambitions.
The chairman said he would continue to raise his concerns respectfully and rely on verifiable information while defending party members’ right to understand the future of their political platform.
