The government of Katsina State under Governor Dikko Raddah as approved the construction of a 20-storey building in Lagos.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Intergovernmental, Development Partners and Liaison Services, Hadiza Maikudi, made this known on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
According to her, the 20-storey building as approved Katsina State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Dikko Radda will be used for residential purposes and constructed on the state government’s property in Victoria Island, Lagos State.
This landmark project, scheduled for completion within 24 months, represents a strategic investment to enhance the state’s revenue base,” she added.
This is coming months after the government of Akwa-Ibom under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno launched the contruction a Ibom-Tower in Lagos, pledging to complete it within 24 months.
The groundbreaking ceremony held in October 2024, was led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with former Akwa Ibom governors Udom Emmanuel and Victor Attah in attendance.
“The Ibom Towers project aims to boost revenue and economic growth for both Lagos and Akwa Ibom,” Governor Umo Eno stated while emphasizing its potential to generate income and create jobs, highlighting the need for visionary leadership.
“Leaders must look to the future, even in difficult times,” he added.
Governor Eno also stressed the importance of unity, saying, “This project proves that collaboration can drive prosperity, especially in tough economic times.” He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his contributions to Lagos’ growth and urged patience with ongoing national reforms, assuring that they would yield long-term benefits.
According to Imo-Abasi Jacob, Managing Director of the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation, Ibom Towers will be a luxury development catering to urban professionals. It will feature high-end apartments, gyms, pools, and smart building technology, serving both as a premium residence and a revenue-generating asset through property leases and tourism.
