#Akwa Ibom Unveils N5.1 Billion Empowerment Scheme for Farmers and Entrepreneurs

The Akwa Ibom State Government has launched a N5.1 billion ARISE Empowerment Programme to support farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs across the state. This initiative, led by Governor Umo Eno, aims to boost economic growth by providing grants and equipment support to individuals and businesses.

Under the scheme:

  • N2 billion is allocated for grants to corporate and commercial farmers.
  • N2 billion is designated for validated traders across all 31 local government areas (LGAs).
  • N800 million will support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential equipment.
  • N310 million in special grants will be awarded to two farmers from each LGA.

The ARISE MSMEs Portal has been developed to ensure a transparent and efficient selection process, with applications managed digitally to prevent duplication and identity conflicts.

Additionally, the E-Home Garden Programme will award N500,000 each to select beneficiaries during a special event on February 6, 2025, at the Amphitheatre, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.

Governor Eno’s administration emphasizes fairness and accountability, ensuring that only genuine and verifiable entrepreneurs benefit from the initiative. Interested applicants can apply via smegrants.akwaibomstate.gov.ng

This programme aligns with the state’s vision to stimulate economic growth, empower businesses, and promote self-sufficiency through strategic investments in agriculture and MSMEs.
