The gathering, hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will take place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, later in the day. The session coincides with President Bola Tinubu’s stay in Lagos for the Eid-el-Fitr holiday before his return to Abuja.

As of March 2026, the APC controls 31 of Nigeria’s 36 governorships, a dominance further bolstered by recent defections from opposition parties. The forum is expected to focus on aligning state-level governance with federal policy priorities and enhancing collaboration among APC-led states.

The PGF last met in Lagos in December 2025 at the same venue, where members addressed national governance challenges and issued a communiqué highlighting optimism about Nigeria’s unity, stability, and long-term development. During that session, they also reviewed the country’s security situation and praised President Tinubu for improved coordination among federal, state, and local security agencies, as well as the contributions of community volunteers in tackling insecurity.
