A Baptist Church cleric, Pastor Daniel Bagama, and his three daughters were abducted by armed assailants in Tudun Bussa village, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The attack occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026, when the gunmen stormed the community, firing sporadically before targeting the pastor’s home. The victims were taken to an unknown location.

Rev. Ishaya Adamu Jangado, President of the Kaduna Baptist Conference, confirmed the abduction in a letter to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Kaduna State CAN Chairman, Rev. Caleb Ma’aji Bawa, also verified the incident.
This incident follows the mass abduction of 177 Christian worshippers in Kurmin Wali community just five days earlier. In a separate attack in Kajuru Local Government Area, four people were reportedly kidnapped while returning from Maro Market. Sources said the victims were intercepted along the Maro–Kajuru route and taken into the bush near Kuturu Buzu.

The fresh abductions have intensified fear among residents, who are calling for urgent intervention by security agencies. Locals cite the bandits’ growing boldness, including making direct phone threats and imposing levies, as evidence of inadequate security presence.

Communities across Southern Kaduna, including Tudun Maje, Unguwar Mailaya, Asharaha, and others, have endured repeated attacks, involving killings, kidnappings, and large-scale theft. Residents report that the insecurity has forced many to flee their homes.
Security agencies have yet to comment, and residents continue to urge immediate action to rescue the victims and restore safety in the region.
