Religious and public leaders across Nigeria have used the Easter season to send messages of hope, unity, and sacrifice, while also reflecting on the country’s current challenges.

An archbishop encouraged Nigerians not to lose faith, reminding them that just as resurrection followed suffering, there is still hope for national restoration. He stressed that with resilience, perseverance, and belief, Nigeria can overcome its economic struggles and return to stability. However, he also noted that many citizens feel discouraged due to hardship and growing concerns about governance, especially as future elections approach. He warned political leaders to respect democratic principles, adding that speaking out or belonging to the opposition should never be treated as a crime. On insecurity, he maintained that violence in some parts of the country remains a serious issue, particularly in rural communities.

Also speaking, Senator Sharafadeen Alli поздравulated Christians and urged them to embrace the true meaning of Easter—hope, sacrifice, and renewal. He called on Nigerians to live by values such as love, humility, and compassion, stressing that unity across religious, ethnic, and political lines is key to overcoming the nation’s challenges. He also urged leaders to govern with sincerity and fairness, promising continued dedication to improving the lives of his constituents.

From the military, Commodore Shehu Tasiu of the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta called on officers and personnel to remain committed to service and sacrifice. Drawing from the Easter message, he emphasised dedication, unity, and selflessness, noting that security personnel often work behind the scenes to ensure others can live and carry out their daily activities safely.

Former Minister Betta Edu also shared an Easter message, encouraging Christians to reflect on the deeper meaning of the season. She described the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of hope, victory, and new beginnings, urging people to embrace compassion, kindness, and unwavering faith. She expressed hope that the season would bring peace, joy, and renewed strength to individuals and the nation as a whole.

Across the board, the messages carried a common theme—despite present difficulties, there is still hope for renewal if Nigerians remain united, faithful, and committed to doing what is right.
