A bomb explosion has struck Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State, on Monday morning, reportedly killing several people.
A local source told SaharaReporters that the blast occurred in the early hours, throwing the already traumatised community into panic. “There was an explosion around Woro this morning. The explosion claimed lives, but the exact number is not yet confirmed. A car drove over an IED (Improvised Explosive Device). We believe it was planted by Boko Haram members,” the source said.

Another resident, Aliyu Yahuza, confirmed the incident, raising concerns that the community continues to face threats from armed groups. The number of casualties remains unclear at this time.
Efforts to obtain a comment from the Kwara State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful.
This latest attack comes amid an ongoing security crisis in Woro. Suspected Boko Haram members had previously invaded the community, killing dozens and abducting at least 176 people, including women, children, and a nursing mother. The incident follows recent deadly attacks elsewhere, including a suicide bombing in Maiduguri last week that claimed several lives and left many injured.
